I'm back... Doing What Works for Me

I haven’t written much on Tumblr over the past week or so. That’s for two reasons. One, my hubby is out of town, so my schedule is off and I’m having to do more daily living stuff on my own. That takes a lot of energy. So my recent days have been spent feeding my critters, preparing meals for myself, taking care of some of the necessary household chores, taking a much needed nap, feeding the critters, preparing meals for myself, sleeping, you get the idea.

The other reason is I’m driving myself crazy with planning, or trying to plan anyway. I’m really working towards getting my Tarot reading business going. I’ve been reading lots of business resources towards that end. In doing so, I’m driving myself crazy, trying to create plans that end up just being unworkable for me.

I’ve learned the hard way that trying to set fixed routines and schedules and plans just simply does NOT work for me. My chronic illness symptoms are just too variable from day to day, sometimes hour to hour. Yet I keep ramming my head into a wall trying to create and stick to set routines, concrete plans, etc.

I also tend to overthink and over plan before setting anything into action. The problem of perfectionism and not wanting to do anything if it won’t be perfect…

I’ve come to realize that I need to let that go. But it’s SO hard. I want to be successful. I want to use the successful methods and techniques for blogging. I don’t want to make the same mistakes many before me have made. But I’m driving myself crazy and accomplishing nothing…

I need to do what works for me. If that means my blog posts aren’t formatted in the most “optimal” way, then so be it. Better for me to do and create SOMETHING rather than nothing. So I’m going to do and write and create the best I can. My goal is to write one Tarot based post and one Crystals and stones based post a week, both here and on my Tumblr blog. I’ll do my best with formatting and putting the business knowledge and resources into action, but I’m not going to drive myself crazy anymore. It gets me nowhere…

So I'm back. I'm going to work very hard on going with the flow and not getting wrapped up in over-planning. I started this blog with the goal of it being organic and enjoyable. I'm hoping to get back to that.

I also continue to find use and application of the quote:
Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can. ~Arthur Ashe

With trying to start my Tarot business, here is where I start. It's what I have. I will soon be posting a services page here on this blog. I'll be doing what I can. I look forward to working with many of you.
